Q: How long
do the batteries last?
A: Battery life depends on how many hours the vehicle drives
on average, per day. Also, battery life depends on the type of
batteries you are using. We recommend using Energizer Lithium
batteries. See the table below:

Q: How long does it take to install this on a vehicle?
A: It will only take you a few seconds to install
it on the vehicle.
Q: If the car is locked, can I still install it on a vehicle?
A: Yes.
You can magnetically attach it under the vehicle. Please read
the red legal disclaimer at the bottom of this page.
Q: Is there any set up or initialization required to make the Tracking
Key work?
A: No. Just
put the batteries in. Put the battery cover on and place the unit
on the vehicle.
Q: Where can I place the Tracking Key?
A: You can
place the Tracking Key just about anywhere on the car you want.
Here are some examples:

Q: Is the Tracking Key water-resistant?
A: The Tracking
Key is water resistant which means the unit will not be damaged
if it comes into contact with a little splashing or misting of water.
However, the Tracking Key cannot be subjected to direct constant
splashing water.
Q: How strong is the magnet mount?
A: The custom
Tracking Key magnet mount is very strong. In all of our testing,
we never lost a tracking key, even in off road situations.
Q: Does the unit work anywhere in the U.S.?
A: The Tracking
Key will work anywhere in the world.
Q: Does the Tracking Key come with every thing I need, including
software?
A: Yes.
The Tracking Key comes with everything you need, including software.
Q: Will changing the recording frequency save on battery life?
A: No. It's
not necessary to change the 1 second recording frequency. The battery
life will not be increased by reducing sampling rate.
Q: How much data will the Tracking Key store?
A: On average,
the Tracking Key will store about a month's worth of data under
normal use.
Q: Does the Tracking Key create Activity Reports
A: Yes.
After you download the data, you can select Activity Report to get
an easy to read Activity Report.
Q: Can I power the Tracking Key with the Vehicle's power?
A:
No. If you want to use the vehicle's power for this type of tracking,
please see the
LandAirSea 3100.
Q: What is your Return Policy?
A: Because
of the nature of this product, we do not allow refunds on this product.
This product is shipped brand new. Returns are allowed for
exchange only or for repairs. See
Return
Policy for more details.
Q: If the batteries go dead before I am able to retrieve the unit,
will I lose the data?
A: No. The
data is safely stored in the unit, even if the batteries go dead.
Q: Does the unit come with a cable to download the data?
A: No. You
do not need a cable to download the data. To download the data,
you simply plug the device into your USB port.
Q: What is the warranty on the Tracking Key?
A: The Tracking
Key comes with a 1 year warranty.
Q: Do I need to subscribe to a monthly service in order to get the
Tracking Key to work?
A: No. There
are no monthly fees or activations fees. The Tracking Key is not
a real time tracking system, it is a passive tracking system. Meaning
you have to retrieve the tracker then download the data on your
computer.
Q: Can I use the Tracking Key for stolen vehicle recovery?
A:
No. If you need a vehicle recovery device, then you need a real
time tracking system such as the
LandAirSea
