Escort 9500 Frequently
Asked Questions
Q: How is the Escort 9500 different from the
Escort 8500?
A: The new Escort 9500i does everything the
Escort
8500 X50 does and more. Here is a list of the features you will
only find on the new Escort 9500i.
-
Escort 9500i will intelligently learn and remember
areas with false alerts (by location and specific frequency)
and permanently lock them out using Escort's new GPS powered
TrueLock feature. Even if a police officer is someday using
radar in an area you locked out as a false alert area, the 9500i
will alert you to that new frequency.
-
The Escort Passport 9500i's "Mark Location"
feature also allows you to store a specific location in memory.
Once stored, the Escort 9500i will provide an alert well in
advance to remind you of the danger before you get there. You
can now mark any known speed trap area and the 9500i will alert
you to this area when you are getting close.
-
The Escort Passport 9500i can vary its sensitivity
based on the vehicle speed. At interstate speeds, all radar
bands are operating at full sensitivity, providing the best
possible performance. At slower speeds, X and K-band sensitivity
is minimized, giving you full protection, but at a range you
need at that speed.
-
The Escort 9500i will display your speed during
an alert to help you make the best possible decision.
-
The Escort 9500i can adjust the alert volume
based on the ambient noise in your vehicle. If you are in a
convertible, your 9500i will recognize the increased noise around
you and alert you at a louder volume.
-
The Escort 9500i has Ku band detection for European
travel.
-
The Escort 9500i also has voice alert option
for crystal clear alerts and user controls.
Q: Is there any shipping charges if I purchase
an Escort radar detector?
A: We offer UPS shipping that starts at $5 for ground, $10 for
3 day, $12 for 2 day, and $25 for next day shipping.
Q: Do I pay sales tax if I purchase an Escort
radar detector from this site?
A: No. We pay all sales tax should it apply.
Q: What is POP radar?
A: POP Radar is the newest radar police are using to detect
your speed. POP radar consists of a lightning-quick radar burst
that can go from “off” to “on” detect you speed then back “off”
again in less than one tenth of a second. Although it is still K
band radar, it is so fast it is undetectable by most detectors.
Q: Does the Escort 9500 detect POP radar?
A: Yes. the Escort 9500 comes with POP protection for long range
POP radar detection.
Q: What is the best radar detector?
A: Please see our 2007
radar detector
tests and decide for yourself. Please note that the Escort 9500
will not be on this list as we have not yet been able to test it.
However, from all the information we have received, it will be similar
in performance to the Escort 8500 X50 but with more features. These
features are listed in the first question above.
Q: What if I buy an Escort 9500i and police later
come out with a new radar?
A: Escort 9500i radar detector detects all radar and laser police
use today. However, should something new be introduced to the market,
the Escort 9500i is completely upgradeable.
