Blinder Xtreme Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do police laser guns work?
A: Very simply, police laser guns send out pulses of laser light and measure how long it takes for the light to hit your vehicle and return to the laser gun. This measurement results in an accurate reading of your vehicles speed.

Q: What is the difference between the Blinder Xtreme M20 and M40?
A: The Blinder M20 comes with 2 laser transceivers and was designed for 180° front protection on small to large vehicles. The Blinder M40 comes with 4 laser transceivers and was designed for 360° front and rear protection on small to large vehicles. The Blinder M40 can also be used for 180° front protection on 18 wheelers and RV's.

Q: Do I need front and rear protection, or just front?
A: That is totally up to you. 99% of all police target the front of your vehicle. Laser guns are rarely if ever targeted at the rear of a vehicle unless the officer cannot get a reading from the front.

Note: Police cannot target your vehicle from the side with laser or radar. They must target you from the front before you get too close or from the rear after you have completely passed them.

Q: What about installation ... Is it hard to install?
A: Most Blinder owners will have their Blinder professionally installed by a car stereo and or car alarm installation shop that will install your Blinder at a reasonable price. However, anyone who is mechanically inclined should be able to install a Blinder Xtreme on their vehicle in about 1-2 hours. All Blinders Xtreme units come with detailed, easy to read installation instructions.
